A study published in Medical Hypotheses shows that salty food can activate certain pleasure centers of the brain and that can cause you to crave more and more of it.

Easy — don’t buy it. When the kids come around selling girl scout cookies and candy bars, it is simple. Tell their parent you don’t want the junk and would just like to make the donation equal to ____ number of boxes. Then you support them but don’t end up regretting it when you go to put your jeans on.
